Virgil van Dijk celebrated Mo Salah's goal BEFORE the Liverpool striker shot during Champions League demolition of Porto
LIVERPOOL star Virgil van Dijk was celebrating Mo Salah's goal even BEFORE the Egyptian scored against Porto on Wednesday night.
The Reds coasted past Porto in their Champions League quarter-final, adding a 4-1 second leg win to their 2-0 home triumph.
Goals from Sadio Mane, Salah, Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk stunned the home crowd at the Estadio do Dragao.
The only cheer on a dismal and cold night for the home fans was a consolation goal from Eder Militao.
But Van Dijk always knew it was going to end well, raising his arms in celebration prematurely before Salah made it 2-0.
A fantastic counter-attack saw Trent Alexander-Arnold thread the ball through a racing Salah through on goal.
But even before the ball was past Porto keeper and Spain legend Iker Casillas Van Dijk had his arms raised aloft in celebration.
But having worked with Salah week in week out for over a year now, he was clearly used to seeing the magician doing what he does best.
We play on Sunday against Cardiff that's in my mind, not how we play against Barcelona
The two-legged triumph means Liverpool will now have the envious task of facing Barcelona in the semi-finals.
But with the Premier League title race against Manchester City as tight as ever, boss Jurgen Klopp knows they must stay focused.
Asked how his side might stop Lionel Messi and all, the German smiled.
"Thank God I don't have to think about that tonight and I have a few more nights to think about it," he said.
"Everybody tries to do it and nobody can do it. We are looking forward to it but we have so many jobs to do before we play Barcelona.
"First let's play these games and then we will play Barcelona and we will see.
"We play on Sunday against Cardiff that's in my mind, not how we play against Barcelona. We have enough time for that."
Klopp promised to wake up on Thursday with Sunday's game at Cardiff at the forefront of his mind.
"We have three days now to recover," he said. "We must be ready for another intense football game.
"Cardiff are now back in the race with the result (at Brighton) so I don't think it will be any less intense than tonight. So that's the next job."
