US racing tips: Templegate's best bets for the meeting at Tampa Bay Downs on Sky Sports Racing on Wednesday

TAMPA BAY DOWNS

6.00

DIG IN didn’t enjoy himself on the turf track here last time and will be much happier with the dirt under his feet. He went close in a similar grade two outings ago and has placed in seven of his eight starts on this surface.

Something Bird ran well over shorter last time and looks a threat, while Donnie Brasco should be a threat taking a double drop in grade.

6.30

HAPPY GUY is overdue a win and went mighty close when second here last time out. He has clocked the best speed figures on show and he'll be right there again.

Wowza Man has yet to hit the frame but has his sights lowered here and should be happier back on dirt today.

7.00

LASTFORTINOFAMILY has been clocking some decent times including when finishing a decent third over the dead mile here last time. He is at home on this turf track and this looks a good chance to get off the mark.

Analyzeyourvision has looked a little rusty in two runs here since a long break. There were positive signs with his fourth last time when close to the pace.

Old Fort comes from a yard which boasts a high strike-rate in this modest class and his rider has been in good form.

HOPEFUL GROWTH has done very little wrong on her two career runs. She won a battle on debut at Monmouth before going close in a hotter race than this at Gulfstream last time out. She was coming back from almost a year off so should improve fitness wise.

Bridge Dancer is another coming right down in class after not enjoying the turf track here latest. This trip should suit better too.

Gogo Shoes struggled in better company at Gulfstream latest after winning by four lengths over six furlongs here in March. She could bounce back.
8.00

HANIEL could be overpriced if repeating the form of her game win over this trip two runs ago. That was his second success on the spin and his trainer wins with an impressive 22% of his turf runners.

Stormy D is another who didn’t get home latest and she has three wins from five outings at this shorter distance. She is proven in a higher grade than this so should be right there.

Fashion’s Star was a winner at Newbury for Roger Charlton as a two-year-old and is worth a look on this return from a long break as she’s been working really well.

CPL DIONICIO couldn’t have been much more impressive when winning by almost four lengths here last time out. His trainer and jockey team have a high strike-rate, particularly in his claiming level.

Circle Away has been knocking on the door and was right on the premises again when second latest. He has clocked better times than most of these so should hit the frame at least.

What A Hoot was third in this class last time and his rider is running at almost 50% winners in the past fortnight.
9.00

TAPAGE was entitled to need his first sight of Tampa last time out. He was drawn way out wide, which didn’t help, and his rider wasn’t too harsh on him. He was in winning form at Gulfstream before that and is capable of bouncing back.

Dynaform looks the big threat after a gutsy success over course and distance latest. He’s had a little break but his trainer does well with horses returning from a layoff.

Masterio looks the pick of the rest after some solid placed runs.

9.30

US ARMY CORPS could be drawn a little better but looks much the best runner in the line up. He took a big step forward on his course debut last time, finishing a close second after leading for a long way. A repeat of that would be good enough.

Charliecando also enjoyed his first spin around this track when second latest and looks a big danger.
