Today's Coronation Stakes betting preview: Latest runners, riders and odds and trainer quotes for the final field

THE Coronation Stakes looks a one-horse race on the face of it – but this is Royal Ascot, and anything can happen.

Hermosa will bid to carry all before her as he bids to complete follow up her victories in the English and Irish Guineas.

1. Castle Lady – H-A Pantall/Castle Lady (15-2)

French Guineas winner just lasted home at Longchamp, nosing ahead in the final strides.

She has to improve on that bare form but the recent rainfall will be in her favour and after just two starts on the turf she likely has plenty more to come.

Not without a chance and it will be interesting to see how she gets on against the home team.

2. Happen – Aidan O'Brien/Donnacha O'Brien (20-1)

Looks up against it a touch judged on her form to date and will need to improve markedly on her Group 3 win last time.

O'Brien's runners are never to be discounted but this is a proper outsider for the great man.

3. Hermosa – Aidan O'Brien/Ryan Moore (4-5f)

Has looked a class act this year, winning the 2,000 Guineas in tremendous style before bolting up in the Irish version.

She's clearly a class act and has by far the best form in the race, has a masterful rider/trainer combo and has potential for even more.

She looks banker material and should win well.

4. Jubiloso – Sir Michael Stoute/James McDonald (7-2)

Very much an unknown quantity, having bolted up in two starts in vastly different conditions.

Takes a big step up in grade now but clearly highly regarded and Sir Michael Stoute doesn't just throw them in these prestigious races if they're not ready.

Impressed recently and shouldn't mind the ground, so looks capable of a massive run.

5. Just Wonderful – Aidan O'Brien/Seamie Heffernan (20-1)

Looks stable third strong and despite being sent off a 9-2 shot for the Irish 1,000 Guineas last time she never looked like landing a blow.

Probably in here for pacemaking duties and unlikely to be good enough.

6. Main Edition – Mark Johnston/Oisin Murphy (20-1)

Won at this meeting last year and clearly possesses bags of ability when on song, as she was when landing a Group 2 in France last time.

Needs more than that though, despite the trainer/jockey good form.

7. Mot Juste – Roger Varian/Andrea Atzeni (33-1)

Only just lost out to the smart Qabala on her seasonal return but disappointed in the Guineas.

Comes here fresher than most but will need to find something extra.

8. Pretty Pollyanna – Michael Bell/Silvestre De Sousa (9-1)

Very smart sprinter as a two-year-old and returned to form with a bang in the Irish Guineas, finishing a fine second to Hermosa.

Needs a little more but could find it as she should strip fitter and certainly not without a chance.

9. Twist 'N' Shake – John Gosden/Frankie Dettori (33-1)

Looked a filly to follow when just losing out to Pretty Polly winner Maqsab but has had her limitations exposed since.

Respected for trainer and jockey but has to find something more.

10. Watch Me – F-H Graffard/Pierre-Charles Boudot (25-1)

French raider didn't run badly in the Pouliches but has a lot to find with Castle Lady.

Only had four starts so open to improvement but this is a tough test.
