'Sour grapes' – Erik ten Hag accused of Arsenal jealousy after Man Utd boss moans about 'lucky' Gunners | The Sun

ERIK TEN HAG has been accused of jealousy after bemoaning Arsenal's luck with injuries.

Pundit Chris Sutton claims the Gunners are "miles ahead" of Manchester United and suggested Ten Hag's injury comments were sour grapes.

Earlier this month the Red Devils boss complained about the injuries his squad have suffered, claiming he has only had his entire roster available for selection on one occasion.

Ten Hag suggested Arsenal have had their squad available almost all of the time, but Sutton feels that assessment is not accurate.

Sutton told BettingSites: “That could well be a bit of sour grapes maybe from Ten Hag.

"I don't think that you can say Arsenal have been lucky with injuries. The players have obviously been doing the right things and working hard. They'll be doing stuff pre-training to make sure they're conditioned and ready to play. And then warming down correctly after games.

"That's not to say Manchester United players aren't doing the same things but in some seasons you get more injuries than other seasons.

"But you know, as a consequence of Arsenal having that continuity while they're doing so well. Ten Hag has done well but he’s probably jealous to be looking and seeing Arsenal just miles ahead of them at the minute.”

Arsenal fans also criticised Ten Hag for his comments, and were quick to point out the lengthy injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith Rowe, amongst others.

Ten Hag has transformed United into top four contenders this season, but he believes his side can challenge Arsenal and Manchester City for the title next season.
