Security called at Australian Open as two women fight over HEADBAND thrown in crowd by Aryna Sabalenka

The unruly pair were booted out of the Melbourne Arena by security and neither of them got to keep the sweaty souvenir.

The young star from Belarus launched her headband into the crowd after a 6-3 6-4 win over England's Katie Boulter.

But chaos commenced when both of the supporters grabbed hold of it at the same time.

As a youngster stood calmly behind them, the two adults imitated a tug of war as they aggressively pulled either end.

Fans in the stadium watched in shock as the two women refused to give up the small black accessory.

Security rushed to the scene and were forced to escort the pair out of the stadium.

It is reported that the staff at the Melbourne Arena staff confiscated the headband and both of the supporters left empty handed.

A video of the altercation was immediately uploaded to social media and viewers on Twitter could not believe their eyes.

One said: "This is the greatest thing I've seen at the #AusOpen."

While another added: "Fans ejected over bizarre headband fight. Who knew a sweaty head cloth was so high in demand."

Sabalenka, who win in Shenzhen earlier this month, will face American teenager Amanda Anisimova next in Australia.
