Reports: Neal Brown has agreed to become next coach at West Virginia

West Virginia didn't need long to find a replacement for Dana Holgorsen

Neal Brown of Troy is set to become the next coach of the Mountaineers, according to multiple reports. The move comes two days after Holgorsen's departure to Houston was announced.

Brown has been considered a rising star in coaching since being hired at Troy after stints as the offensive coordinator at Texas Tech and Kentucky.

In his four seasons with the Trojans, he went 35-16 with three bowl appearances and a share of the Sun Belt title in 2017. Among the victories have been notable wins at LSU and Nebraska in the past two seasons.

The task of following Holgorsen won't be easy. West Virginia must replace senior quarterback Will Grier along with several other key contributors

Holgorsen compiled a 61-41 record during his eight seasons, but the tenure was marked by his failure to lead the Mountaineers to a Big 12 title or even the conference title game the past two years.
