Real Madrid 'refuse to throw in towel' on Paul Pogba pursuit and hope Man Utd will sell after Prem transfer window closes

REAL MADRID are reportedly refusing to “throw in the towel” on their pursuit of Paul Pogba.

And the Galacticos are ready to keep pushing Manchester United into a deal until after the Premier League transfer window closes.

That is according to Spanish outlet AS, who claim the French midfielder has already said yes to a move to the Bernabeu.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has made his countryman his next top summer target after the capture of Eden Hazard from Chelsea last month.

And he is determined to get his man – despite United’s reluctance to sell their club-record signing.

Pogba came back to Old Trafford for £89m from Juventus in 2016 but has failed to hit top gear for the Red Devils and had numerous fall-outs with former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer’s arrival in the United dug-out last December led to an upturn in form from the star, and the Norwegian wants to keep the World Cup winner as part of his squad.

POG WANTS OFF

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has informed Pogba and his agent Mino Raiola that he intends to block any bid to force a move.

Yet Pogba, 26, having already told all his United team-mates he wants to go, hopes Solskjaer will persuade Woodward to end the deadlock.

United’s first pre-season match is against Perth Glory in Australia on July 13 and Pogba wants the issue sorted before then.

And if they do sell, Woodward will demand at least £120million.

Madrid’s pressure will continue to intensify for at least another two months.

The transfer market in England will close on August 8, but the Spanish window runs until September 2, leaving Madrid with an extra four weeks to get their man.

Despite not qualifying for the Champions League and the cash windfall that brings, United are under no financial pressure sell.
