Proof ref Martin Atkinson changed his mind from yellow to red card after seeing Andre Gomes horror injury – The Sun

TOTTENHAM could decide to appeal Son Heung-min's red card against Everton after referee Martin Atkinson changed his mind from booking him to sending him off.
The match official could be clearly seen with a yellow card in his hand ready to award the South Korean international who had fouled Everton midfielder Andre Gomes.
But after seeing the severity of the ex-Barcelona star's injury, Atkinson instead decided to send Son off.
The 27-year-old left the pitch in tears after Gomes suffered a suspected broken leg at Goodison Park.
Dele Alli revealed that the former Bayer Leverkusen man was so distraught in the changing rooms that he couldn't even pick his head up.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has since insisted Son is feeling better after being consoled by a number of Tofees players in the dressing room after the game.
Asked in his press conference whether Son will get help dealing with what happened, Poch said: "We are the best psychologists, the physios, the doctors, the team-mates and the players from Everton that were fantastic.
"I want to say thank you to the captain, Coleman, they came to the dressing room to console Sonny and now he’s very calm.
"I want to say thank you to the players and Coleman, who came in on behalf of the players of Everton."
He also spoke of his disbelief that Son was given his marching orders as he told reporters: "It was clear it was never the intention of Son for what happened. It is unbelievable that he saw a red card."
Asked whether he would appeal the red card, he said: "I don't know. It's possible, but I don't know."
Former Spurs striker Gary Lineker tweeted his opinion on whether the player should have been sent off, as he commented: "Son clearly massively upset. Without the injury he wouldn’t have been shown a red card."
Michael Owen simply stated: "Shocking decision to send Son off but that’s insignificant in the scheme of things."
