Pogba's brother confirms he wanted to quit Man Utd because of Mourinho

The French midfielder's sibling Mathias has revealed that the star was ready to walk out of Old Trafford for a second time.

And that revelation will come as no surprise to many who witnessed the spat between United's record signing and their manager.

Pogba clashed with Mourinho numerous times over tactics, with the 25-year-old believed to have become frustrated at not being allowed to express himself on the pitch.

One particular low point came in late September when player and manager appeared to clash in a training session – and this was all caught on video.

Incredibly it was all over a delayed social media post, with Mourinho believing Pogba was "laughing at him" after losing to Derby in the Carabao Cup.

Speaking to French TV station Telefoot, Mathias, who plays for Tours in the French league, said: "Did Paul think about leaving because of Mourinho? Of course. It comes to mind.

"But today he is where he is. He was under contract so he had to grit his teeth and keep working."

Pogba's form has taken an incredible upturn since Mourinho was axed and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was given the job until the end of the season.

In eight games playing under the Norwegian, Pogba has netted six times and collected five assists.

And he looks like he has been given the licence to thrill now too.

Pogba has more shots per game under Solskjaer and creates more chances each game for his team-mates.

And this is brilliant news for the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, the former in particularly red-hot form in front of goal.
