Official says body found on Venice Beach matches ‘description’ of missing WWE star Shad Gaspard

A body found early Wednesday near Venice Beach, California, matches the description of former WWE star Shad Gaspard, who went missing while swimming near the area Sunday.

Captain AJ Lester of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Lifeguard Division told USA TODAY Sports that two people discovered the body washed ashore and called 911. Authorities who arrived at the scene said "the description (of the body) did match that of our missing swimmer."

The body discovered was a "large African-American male, over 200 pounds and matching the description of the missing swimmer we had actively been searching for since Sunday afternoon," Lester said.
