Notts County fans appear to brawl with a steward in nasty scenes at League Two clash with Cheltenham
Fighting broke out in the Notts County section of the ground during the match, which Cheltenham won 4-1.
The incident flared up after the travelling County fans were goaded by players from the home side celebrating their opening goal through Will Boyle on 32 minutes.
An eye-witness as told SunSport that a brawl broke out when a steward intervened to stop County fans getting close to the players.
Around a dozen supporters were locked together in the melee as police and other stewards waded in to break up the fighting.
One steward, who appeared to have been gripped in a headlock by a colleague, was left with a bloodied nose.
A Cheltenham statement said: “Stewards responded to an incident in the Notts County section of the ground and a brief confrontation followed.
"There were no ejections during the game but the whole incident was captured on CCTV and we will be reviewing the footage with Gloucestershire Police early next week.”
