Nike 'snub Harry Kane for Erling Haaland as England captain forced to wait on new boot deal ahead of World Cup' | The Sun

HARRY KANE will reportedly not sign a new Nike boot deal until after the World Cup as the manufacturer chases Erling Haaland's signature.

The Manchester City star is currently not signed to a boot sponsorship and is being chased by the world's biggest companies.

Haaland's previous deal with Nike ran out earlier this year.

The 22-year-old has continued to wear Nike boots for the most part, but he has also been spotted in Puma and Adias products this season.

American manufacturer Nike are desperate for him to resign with them, and are part of a bidding war to get him back under contract.

The World Cup is a major event for brands, but despite Haaland's Norway failing to qualify Nike are eager for him to agree to terms before the tournament kicks off, according to The Telegraph.

So much so Tottenham talisman Kane is being forced to wait to extend his own deal as the brand prioritises snapping up Haaland.

Haaland's incredible start to life in the Premier League, plus his general aura as a player, mean he is hugely appreciated by Nike.

Unlike Haaland, Kane will be at the World Cup as England skipper and is one of the favourites to bag the golden boot.

But nevertheless Nike are reported to be planning their budget around capturing Haaland first.

Kane is then likely to resign with the brand after the World Cup.

While Haaland is leading Kane in the race to be signed by Nike, the City man is also ahead in the race for the Premier League golden boot.

Haaland has bagged a stunning 11 goals in just seven Prem games and is the league's top scorer.

Kane himself is joint-second with Aleksandr Mitrovic, but is already five goals behind the £51million summer signing from Borussia Dortmund.
