DIEGO CARLOS, Bruno Guimaraes and Todd Cantwell are odds-on to join Newcastle.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who are backing Eddie Howe and Co. to strengthen their ranks before the transfer window closes next week.

The Toon were quick off the mark with the addition of Kieran Trippier, who joined from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £12million.

Burnley striker Chris Wood followed shortly afterwards when Newcastle triggered his £25m release clause.

But more additions could be in the pipeline with the club's hierarchy, led by Amanda Staveley and Mehrad Ghodussi, desperate for new recruits.

Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos is most likely to arrive at St James' Park at odds of 2/9.

The mega-rich Magpies have offered £32m for the talented Brazilian defender — but the LaLiga side are holding out for a whopping £40m to green-light a sale.

Lyon’s defensive midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is next in the betting at 4/6 after it was confirmed that Newcastle had submitted an offer of £33.5m.

The Premier League side are still awaiting a response but could have competition from Arsenal and Juventus, who could swoop at the end of the season.

Norwich's Todd Cantwell, who has struggled to nail down a first-team spot at Carrow Road, is next at 8/11.

Lille's Sven Botman had led the market at 4/11, although that price has drifted considerably to 11/8 with the French club determined to rebuff any offers.

Aaron Ramsey is available at 17/10 with Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri revealing the Welshman will leave Turin shortly.

Centre-back duo James Tarkowski and Nat Phillips are next at 15/8 and 23/10 respectively, while goalkeeper Bernd Leno is priced at 13/5.

Newcastle are still scrambling to replace top scorer Callum Wilson, who is sidelined with a calf injury for two months.

And that could open the door to moves for either Divock Origi (10/3) or Atalanta star Duvan Zapata (10/3), who has reportedly agreed personal terms of £105,000-a-week.
