Man Utd manager target Erik ten Hag ‘reluctant’ to leave Ajax with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under increasing pressure

ERIK TEN HAG is being eyed as a potential replacement for under-pressure Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the Manchester United hot seat.

The 51-year-old has been in charge at the Johan Cruyff Arena since 2017 and is known to have the utmost respect for his employers.

A 3-0 victory over Tottenham provided some respite but crosstown rivals City halted any momentum with Saturday’s derby win.

And Spurs may well have had the last laugh anyway after appointing Antonio Conte as their manager.

The north Londoners sacked Nuno Espirito Santo to pounce for the 52-year-old’s signature.

The Italian tactician was another name in the frame for the United job and waited until the last minute to sign his new £15million-a-year contract.

He had been waiting to see if the Red Devils would come knocking but eventually opted to take over at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
