Man Utd fly down to London to face Brentford with Phil Jones and Co… but no Cristiano Ronaldo to be seen on flight

MANCHESTER UNITED headed south to London for their Premier League clash against Brentford on Wednesday without Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Red Devils flew down from Manchester on Tuesday – despite the club's vow to be friendlier to the environment.

Captain Harry Maguire was spotted stepping off the plane along with goalkeepers Tom Heaton and Dean Henderson.

Donny van de Beek and Phil Jones were also snapped by photographers and though the pair are unlikely to start against the Bees they should feature on the bench.

But one man not seen amongst the rest of the squad was Cristiano Ronaldo, who missed out on the match against Aston Villa through injury.

Ronaldo was in Switzerland 24 hours earlier as he collected a special Fifa award for breaking the all-time international scoring record.

Anthony Elanga started in Ronaldo's place at Villa Park and the youngster could get the nod once again at Brentford.

Marcus Rashford was also absent but is thought to be in contention to start on Wednesday.

Ralf Rangnick will be desperate to have his star players available with United needing to get back to winning ways.

The German has overseen four wins in eight games and appears to have fallen out with wantaway star Anthony Martial.

Rangnick claimed Martial refused to travel to the Aston Villa – which the striker has denied.

But the Red Devils boss has revealed Martial has not taken part in training this week amid speculation linking him with a move abroad.
