Juan Quintero claims Manchester City transfer talks ongoing

The playmaker shined for Colombia during last summer’s tournament in Russia.

And he also caught the eye in the Copa Libertadores final after netting for winners River Plate against Boca Juniors.

Quintero, 25, has already spent four years in Europe, having played for Pescara, Porto and Rennes.

He still belongs to Porto, with his year-long loan in Argentina about to end.

But Quintero claims he could now be heading to City to boost their title bid.

Pep Guardiola’s men are just four points behind Liverpool after beating the Premier League leaders 2-1 on Thursday.

But Quintero claims he will not return to Europe simply for money, adding that he would also be delighted to remain at River.

He told Radio Continental: “My agent has had a meeting with Man City, which makes me very proud.

“But if I’m to return to Europe it has to be for the benefit of all, not just a financial thing.”
