Goodwood best bets: Your best bets and NAP for today's racing at Glorious Goodwood from Callum Jamieson
HAYLEY Turner, Hayley Turner, Hayley Turner. What could have been?
But enough off that, we move on and we move on in a confident mood ahead of Thursday's racing on the Sussex Downs.
The opening handicap is right up my street and full of exciting three-year-olds. But top of my list is SINJAARI (Goodwwod, 1.50).
Connections got it all wrong at Ascot, when they decided to try the Golden Horn route around from Swinley Bottom and he had no chance despite being backed all day. The handicapper even dropped him a pound for that.
This is arguably a tad easier than that red-hot Ascot handicap and I'm expecting a huge run, despite the fact William Haggas' team are yet to get going this week.
He had most of these beat in the London Gold Cup and still looks well handicapped on that run that ties in with subsequent Group winner Headman.

I still think this horse will be better over a mile-and-a-half, but this is the obvious spot for him here. He should go very close in this before connections think about stepping him up to Listed or even Group level.
Onto the Richmond Stakes and one of my strongest fancies of the week. GOLDEN HORDE (Goodwood, 2.25) looks a huge price in this Group 2.
I think he'll want a little further in time as he's not blessed with the biggest of motors, but I could not have been much more taken with his fifth in the Coventry.
That is proper form regardless of what went wrong. He hung all over the gaff and jockey Adam Kirby even dropped his whip fairly late on.
Thursday Bets…
- 1.50 Goodwood – SINJAARI 1pt win (Bet now)
- 2.25 Goodwood – GOLDEN HORDE 1pt ew (Bet now)
The Clive Cox team have been bobbing along under the radar in good nick and I know Cox regards this horse very highly.
Threat is the clear and obvious threat, for a stable that have farmed this race. But aside from Richard Hannon's horse, little scares me in this.
He looks a stonking bet in what I would call a two horse race. Let's hope I don't have egg on my face.
