Floyd Mayweather promises entertainment but not a KO when he fights Tenshin Nasukawa

Mayweather, 41, takes on Nasukawa, 20, in a three round boxing exhibition on New Year’s Eve with Japanese MMA promotion Rizin FF promoting the event.

Mayweather retired from the ring last year after he halted UFC star Conor McGregor in what was the Irishman’s pro boxing debut.

As Mayweather once again prepares to face another southpaw boxing novice, the American doesn’t seem to worried about his inactivity from competition.

Mayweather said: “I don’t worry about anything, I don’t have to train for three rounds. As far as in the sport of contact sports, I’ve seen everything throughout my career.

“It’s just another day. Another day like I wake up, take shower, put my clothes on.

“Just fighting is something I’ve done for over 30 years, so it’s just another day. I worry about entertaining and things, but once the bell rings, it’s always entertainment.

“So it is about having fun, going out there and doing my best.”

McGregor entered his money grab boxing cameo with Mayweather last year with a history of KO’s inside the UFC octagon.

Nasukawa, however, is unknown over this side of the pond – despite being a cult hero in his native Japan for the excitement and sheer class he brings in his fights.

The 20-year-old is undefeated in 28 kickboxing bouts with 27 coming by KO – however, he campaigns at featherweight, roughly 122lbs.

That's almost 28lbs lighter than what Mayweather weighed in at in preparation for his fight against McGregor.

Nasukawa can evidently punch, with the fighter even defeating former IBF flyweight boxing champion Amnat Ruenroeng in a kickboxing bout last year.

However, Mayweather takes confidence from his performances over Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, and Juan Manuel Marquez as the American is typically not fazed by the thought of being dropped.

Mayweather added: “Throughout my career in boxing, as far as amateur, as far as professional, I never touched the canvas once.

“If you look at my record, my career, Pacquiao, he’s a huge puncher. Miguel Cotto, Marquez. The list goes on and on, about so many different fighters with an iron face. I don’t really worry about that.

“I mean, I’m sure he’s taking this fight extremely serious, he’s working out at this gym.

“It’s just another day. I don’t have to work hard for three rounds. I can basically do three rounds in my sleep. So I don’t worry about that.”
