Ex-Premier League star looks unrecognisable as he shows off Jack Sparrow look in his rock ‘n roll music career

AT the age of 30, this Argentine-born Italian international quit the game to become a rock star.

That was after the former forward played his football on the South Coast for Southampton, and also turned out for teams as prestigious as Inter Milan, Juventus and Boca Juniors.

Not to mention representing the Azzurri 14 times… can you guess who this Jack Sparrow lookalike is?

It's none-other-than Dani Osvaldo, who Mauricio Pochettino brought to our shores in 2013 for the Saints in a £13million deal.

Now, instead of leading the line for club and country, he is frontman of Barrio Viejo, a band he formed with a bunch of musician friends he met in a bar when he signed for Espanyol in the Barcelona back in 2010.

"I was 30 years old when I quit football," Osvaldo told SunSport in 2018.

"And people say that's the age when a footballer reaches his peak.

"People just don't understand it, you know, they look at me like 'you're crazy. You had everything.

"You played in some of the best teams in the world and you decided just to quit to do this? You're nuts'. People don't understand. But it's my passion."

Osvaldo now lives his life like a rock star too, and regularly shares images on Instagram clutching a bottle of Jack Daniels.

He's also partial to a smoke, which is something that landed him in hot water once at Boca Juniors, who sacked him for having a cheeky toke in the dressing room.

Famously, his time at Southampton also came to an end for ill-discipline – when he fought team mate Jose Fonte at the training ground.

"There are so many many rules in football. So so many rules. And I'm not good with the rules. I like to be free," he revealed.

"I am proud of my career and I owe everything to football. But in football you have to live a life that's not real.

You have a price, a value. It's crazy. If you're good you're worth 50 million and if you're not good you're worth nothing.

"If you score a goal you are a God and if you don't you're a s***.

"The only thing that matters about you is Daniel Osvaldo the football player, but they don't give a s*** if you're a good boy or not. Or if you have feelings.

"I didn't like that. I'm a sensitive person. I was tired. I was going crazy and I decided to live the musician's life instead.

"I left football and I don't feel heavy any more. I feel free and relaxed. I'm so happy now."
