England star Lucy Bronze trips trying volley on Soccer AM – leaving Dillian Whyte howling with laughter

The Lyon and England star, one of the best defenders in women's football, completely fluffed her lines on Soccer AM – much to the amusement of heavyweight boxer Dillian Whyte.




Bronze was named in the 2015 World Cup team of the tournament and the 2017 Euros team of the tournament ,and was on the shortlist for the women's Ballon d'Or – but she certainly forgot her shooting boots in the Sky Sports parking lot.

Stepping up, Bronze looks confident, but then manages to trip over and land flat on her face.

To add insult to injury, the ball lands with a thud on her head.

Dillian Whyte is absolutely loving it.


The heavyweight star doesn't even try and muffle his laughs as Bronze can only stand with her head in her hands.

Lionesses team-mate Toni Duggan was up next – and didn't fair much better.

The Barcelona striker managed to star on her feet, but then sent the volley ballooning over the top of the bar.

Despite those in the studio laughing off the incident – and Bronze scoring her volley on her next attempt – reaction to the video sparked a number of sexist comments.


However, there were those defending the two players who have been two of the Lionesses' most decorated aces in recent years.

One wrote: "People saying women's football is ? because Lucy Bronze and Toni Duggan slipped / mis-kicked need to seriously get a life.

"I've not watched Soccer AM in years, but I've seen many male footballers mess up on the show in the past, does that mean the sport's bad? Of course not."

Another said: "Wow. So many people slamming women’s football because Lucy Bronze slipped on Soccer AM and Toni Duggan missed a pen.

"These small minded idiots wind me up.

"Bet 90% can’t even kick a ball around at the park without passing out.

"Watch the England women’s team, might learn a few things."

A final one said: "Lucy Bronze and Toni Duggen shouldn’t be judged by a volley challenge Soccer AM.

"What you can do is laugh at Lucy falling on her a*** because it’s funny."
