Deontay Wilder demands his full share of fight purse if Tyson Fury pulls out of rescheduled trilogy bout
DEONTAY WILDER has claimed the world title and full share of the fight purse should be his if Tyson Fury withdraws from their trilogy fight next month.
The two heavyweights are set to face each other for a third time in Las Vegas next month with the WBC heavyweight title on the line.
Fury will be making the first defence of the belt he sensationally snatched from Wilder in their last bout 18 months ago.
The pair had been set to renew their rivalry in July this year but Fury was forced to withdraw after a Covid outbreak in his camp.
Wilder remains unconvinced by the reason behind Fury’s initial withdrawal and has now issued a stark warning ahead of the rescheduled event.
“If he doesn’t show up he's going to have to suffer the consequences, the penalties that have been set forth,” the American told YouTube channel 78SportsTV.
“If he doesn’t fight, then pay me what you're supposed to pay me. Then you have to give up that belt as well.”
Wilder and Fury each went into their February 2020 rematch guaranteed to earn £3.9million, rising to £19.4m once pay-per-view and ticket sales were totted up.

Reports suggest their trilogy fight could land both fighters a guaranteed £6m payday.
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has insisted his charge has his sights on a blockbuster bout with British rival Anthony Joshua.
But Wilder warned the Wythenshawe fighter not to bottle their upcoming clash.
He added: “It's a win-win situation for me, it's a lose-lose situation for him.
“That's the great thing about it, the saying has always said that history repeats itself.
“We know his actions are always the same, he's done this many times where he tries to get out of fights.
“He has had a door to escape from. But at this moment in time he has no more doors, no options.
“He has to put up or shut up, fight or retire. Either fight and give me my money or give up that belt.
“It's a win-win situation for me and with that being said I can sleep at night.”
