Dele Alli suffers 'broken hand' but Spurs hopeful he can play on through pain amid Harry Kane injury fears

DELE ALLI could be forced to play the rest of the season with a broken hand.

The England star, 23 today, suffered the injury in Tottenham's win over Manchester City on Tuesday.

Alli was replaced after 87 minutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium holding his left wrist.

X-ray results reportedly show a fracture but Spurs are hopeful Alli will not miss any of their run-in from now until the end of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, club medics could fit the midfielder with a splint or cast to protect his hand – similar to that of Andros Townsend, who suffered a break earlier this month.

Alli made no mention of his injury in an Instagram post today.

He shared a picture of himself topless and playing a guitar, captioned: "‘Happy birthday to me’ ? ?"

Spurs already fear star striker Harry Kane will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury sustained against City.

Kane, 25, left the stadium in a protective boot and on crutches after jumping into a challenge with Fabian Delph – and was blamed by fans for "injuring himself".

He tweeted yesterday: "Gutted but every setback a chance to return stronger."

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said: "We hope it's not a big issue but it doesn't look good. Yes, I am worried he will miss the rest of the season."

Tottenham are just one point clear of fifth-placed Arsenal with six Premier League games left.

Poch's men also have a crucial Champions League quarter-final second-leg clash to play at the Etihad next week.
