Darts walk-on looks more like a ‘stag do’ as fans lap up World Cup pairing

Darts fans have joked Australia's walk-on during the World Cup looks more like a 'stag do'.
Simon Whitlock and Damon Heta kicked off their campaign on Thursday evening as they marched to the ring to Daft Punks' hit One More Time. The pair were decked out in their yellow Team Australia tops, with traditional Australian Outback hats.
"When you go on a stag do and end up at the World Cup of Darts," one fan joked. While a second added: "Plenty going on here and it looks like Michael Gove is scoring!"
"Reigning champions Australia brought their fashion A-game for their first walk-on of the championship," a third said. And another tweeted: "Team Australia look like they're just about to go fishing with those silly hats."

Whitlock and Heta went the distance last year – and they began their title defence with a 4-0 win over Guyana. "It wasn't a great performance but we got the job done," said Australia's number one Heta.
"We move on to bigger and better things tomorrow night and hopefully we get the job done against Gibraltar. We have grown up in Australia playing Pairs, so I think this format suits us. We fancy our chances."

"We won this title last year and it's up to the other players to try and beat us, and that's how we are going to approach it."
Australia can now book their passage to the next round when they clash with Gibraltar on Friday. Craig Galliano and Justin Hewitt watched on in the crowd on Thursday as their two rivals stepped up to the octagon in Frankfurt.
