Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be stripped of Juventus free-kick duties despite appalling record – The Sun

CRISTIANO RONALDO will NOT be stripped of his Juventus free-kick-taking duties – despite his atrocious record.
The Portuguese legend, 34, has taken – and missed – 28 free-kicks since joining Juve in a £99million deal in 2018.
Of those set-pieces, a ridiculous 18 hit the wall, while only seven hit the target.
But boss Maurizio Sarri shrugged off the suggestion Ronaldo may be told to give someone else a go ahead of Saturday's game with Lecce.
The former Chelsea chief said: "The free kicks? We have two right-footed options on the pitch: Miralem Pjanic and Ronaldo.
"So they will have to decide among themselves who takes them, as happens in just about any other side."
Despite Ronaldo continuing to take free-kicks this season, Juventus have dropped just two points all season, with seven wins and a draw from their eight Serie A games.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star has scored four times in that run, including alst weekend's 2-1 win over Bologna.
But Sarri revealed Ronaldo may need to be rested soon to avoid burnout, having also featured heavily in the Champions League and for Portugal this season – racking up 14 matches already.
