Craig Bellamy reportedly told John Arne Riise ‘I don’t care if I go to jail’ as he wildly attacked Liverpool team-mate with a golf club after row over karaoke

The Norwegian star, 38, has revealed the shocking details of his explosive bust-up with the Welsh striker in 2007.

Liverpool's squad had jetted off to train in Algarve before their Champions League showdown with Barcelona.

Some of the players had headed out for a drink and Bellamy called for the left-back to sing karaoke at a local bar.

As reported by The Guardian, Riise said in his autobiography: "Pretty soon Bellamy was over by the karaoke machine with the microphone in hand: 'Riise's gonna sing! Riise's gonna sing.'

"Furious, I went over to him to him: 'I'm not singing. Shut the f**k up or else I'm gonna smash you!

"He screamed back: 'I'm gonna f*****g kill you, you ginger c**t."

Riise then went back to his hotel room before he was woken up by Bellamy in the middle of the night  with a golf club.

He added: "Bellamy raised the club over his head and swung as hard as he could.

"He tried to hit my shins, which would have ended my career, but I managed to pull my leg away in time."

According to Riise, Bellamy said: "Nobody disrespects me like that in front of the lads!

"I don't care if I go to jail! My kids have enough money for school and everything. I don't care. I'll f*****g do you."

The Norwegian then revealed he was hit in the thigh and hip, but didn't feel the pain because of his adrenaline rush.

Riise then offered him a fist fight before Bellamy vowed to settle their dispute in the morning at nine o'clock.

He added: "I felt like knocking him out. I would have been justified in giving him a pounding but I had too much respect for Benitez and the team."

Bellamy then apologised and received an £80,000 fine for his explosive outburst before the match.

Liverpool went on to win the match 2-1 following goals from both Bellamy and Riise.

The Welsh striker cheekily decided to pull out a golf swing celebration after his strike at the Nou Camp.
