College basketball fans roast Ted Cruz for jinxing Texas Tech in NCAA national title game
Texas senator Ted Cruz has long struggled with his basketball fandom. He called a basketball hoop a "ring" while campaigning for president. He took on Jimmy Kimmel in a terrible game of one-on-one. He got blamed for the Houston Rockets' Game 7 loss to the Golden State Warriors.
Basically, if you're a sports team in Texas — apply the Drake rule to Ted Cruz. Keep him away.
Texas Tech failed to do so in Monday's NCAA championship game against Virginia and suffered a demoralizing overtime loss. The Red Raiders' rally was going so well until Cruz tweeted this weird selfie from his luxury suite at U.S. Bank Stadium.
A late one-point lead ultimately became an eight-point overtime loss.

Let's just say that the internet was not kind to the Texas senator.
