Boca Juniors stars Edwin Cardona and Wilmar Barrios in court accused of threatening two women with a knife

BOCA JUNIORS stars Edwin Cardona and Wilmar Barrios have been accused by two women of assault and threatening them with a knife.

The two women, who have not been identified, reportedly claim the players "illegally deprived them of their liberty and injuring them on January 13", when they visited an apartment to get their hair cut.

And reported their alleged abuse to a judge in the Argentinian capital city of Buenos Aires.

The Colombian-born duo have denied any wrongdoing.

Speaking to a local radio station, Cardona insisted: "I'm hurt and saddened by everything that's being said. I have a wife and three children."

Attorney Miguel Angel Pierri, who represents the two footballers, claims the pair only went to the apartment to "cut their hair" and will investigate fully with the investigation.

However, Juan Cerolini, who represents one of the women admitted they were hair stylists and that a barber had asked them to come to the apartment at the request of the players.

They allege that Cardona and Barrios then caused injuries and threatened them with a knife.

Cerolini stated that the duo had been drinking alcohol, but insists they did not try to sexually abuse the women.

Boca president Daniel Angelici is meeting with the pair today, insisting: "We have to remain calm and wait for the evidence. And we won't hesitate to act in the correct manner."
