Ben Askren calls Jorge Masvidal and Jake Paul '12-year-olds' as trio continue war of words ahead of April 17 event

BEN ASKREN has hit back at UFC ace Jorge Masvidal as the war of words over the upcoming Jake Paul scrap intensifies.

The duo already have bad blood between them with Masvidal knocking out Askren inside five seconds in 2019.

Askren, 36, steps out of retirement and into the boxing ring to take on Youtuber Paul on April 17.

Masvidal has thrown his hat in Paul's corner and Facetimed his fellow American pal during their fight press conference last week.

He then hit out at his former foe by saying: "The individual I buried does not represent MMA.

"He represents all the hard core and casual crotch sniffers #andnew."

However Askren has taken to social media to hit back by responding: "It makes a lot of sense that @GamebredFighter and @jakepaul are friends.

"Both have the emotional maturity of a 12-year-old.

"If you say something they don’t like one pouts and stomps, the other tries to fight you."

He fired another shot at Masvidal on Wednesday by writing: "I’ve refrained for 2 years, but let’s be real Jorge. You landed the luckiest knee of your life and I made you famous.

"You’re welcome. You got 50-43’d by Usman and will likely again next month. Beat it loser."

Paul has won his only two pro bouts against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and basketball player Nate Robinson.

Askren and Paul have been vocal of their disdain with each other as they attempt to gain publicity for the scrap.

Paul promised his fans: "I'm gonna end this guy's career as an embarrassment.

“Masvidal did it once and I'm gonna do it again.”
