Distraught BBC pundit Lutalo Muhammad walked off the studio set as he watched Team GB star Bianca Walkden lose her taekwondo semi-final contest in the dying seconds.
Muhammad, who won the silver medal in taekwondo for Great Britain at Rio 2016, struggled to hide his disappointment as he watched Walkden miss out on reaching the 67kg women’s final in agonising fashion.
The 30-year-old Brit has been a revelation as a pundit for the Tokyo Games so far and his latest display of emotion will have only endeared himself to viewers.

But for Muhammad, it was as if history was repeating himself considering how he suffered a similar last-second loss in his gold medal match in Rio 2016, leaving him to walk off the studio set in disbelief on Tuesday morning.
Walkden’s loss in the final second swiftly followed defeats for Team GB team-mates Bradley Sinden and Lauren Williams, both of whom had to settle for silver medals after seeing leads overturned late on.
As Muhammad offered analysis for Walkden’s bout, host Dan Walker revealed how they had a camera on the former Olympian to capture his emotion before he left the set.

South Korea’s Lee Da-bin celebrates after landing a three-point head-kick right on the button that gave her a 25-24 win and a place in the final, while Walkden lays distraught on the floor
Walkden had led South Korea’s Lee Da-bin by two points but a three-point head-kick right on the button gave her opponent a 25-24 win and a place in the final.
Muhammad tweeted seconds after the defeat: ‘Gutted!!!!!!!! @BiancaW_tkd fought brilliantly! So unlucky to miss out in the last second! She needs to refocus now and secure the bronze medal. Still a big chance to bring some precious metal home! #Olympics #Tokyo2020 #Taekwondo’
Walkden endured a nervy start to the match having already conceded a three gam-jeom (penalty points), putting her 3-1 behind early on.
The three-time world champion forced her way back into the match in the second, bringing the score back to 10-10 after being the aggressor, landing two two-point kicks to the trunks.
Muhammad tweeted after the contest how gutted he was for his fellow Brit Walkden

But it was the final round that broke the hearts of Walkden and her Team GB team-mate Jade Jones, who was watching on from the sidelines.
Walkden managed to recover after an early head kick from Lee in the third round, delivering blows to the body to get herself back into the contest once again.
However, eight more controversial gam-jeoms left the Team GB star with it all to do before entering the final minute of the bout.
Walkden was adjudged to have kicked her opponents after the referee had brought a halt to proceedings, which saw a lengthy TV review go in the favour of Lee, giving the Brit another two-point reduction.
A spirited fightback from the Brit saw her land a number of body shots to give her a late lead in the round and send her into the final, where she’d fight for a gold medal.
