Arsenal star Jack Wilshere to sign new deal and Mikel Arteta to be confirmed as manager

JACK WILSHERE is set to give Arsenal a double boost by signing a new deal before the club to announce Mikel Arteta as their new manager, according to reports.

Wilshere and his representatives have been in talks with the Gunners for months and now the saga will come to a close with a three-year-deal and 12-month option agreed, say the Mirror.

The 26-year-old looked set to be on his way out of the Emirates after rejecting an initial offer which would have seen the midfielder take a pay cut but with big incentives to boost his wages.

Everton, Wolves and Real Betis were keen on landing the England international as a free agent.

Wilshere extending his stay at his boyhood club is a huge boost in the same week that will see Arteta replace Arsene Wenger in the manager’s hot-seat.

A deal for Pep Guardiola’s assistant is reportedly agreed in principle with Manchester City who will not stand in the Spaniard’s way.
