Arsenal set to be beaten by Wolves in £10m transfer race for giant Olympiakos defender Pape Abou Cisse – The Sun
ARSENAL have reportedly lost out to Wolves in the race for Olympiakos star Pape Abou Cisse.
Greek outlet Gavros claims Nuno Espirito Santo has won the battle to bring Cisse to England this summer.
The centre-back, 23, is rated as one of the best prospects in Europe.
And Wolves are understood to have struck a £10million deal for his coveted signature.
It means Arsenal will have to look elsewhere for a new centre-half, with new arrival William Saliba set to be loaned back to St Etienne for the season.
Laurent Koscielny is also pushing for a return to France.
And Unai Emery could be left short at the back going into the new season.
But Wolves fans are sure to be pleased after securing a new face.
Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker have both joined on permanent deals after spending last term on loan at Molineux.
And Cisse will become Santo’s third summer signing as Wolves look to make an impression in the Europa League.
The ace was recently playing in the African Cup of Nations final with Senegal, but will link up with his new team shortly.
