Arsenal player ratings: Kolasinac shines, Ozil silences critics and Maitland-Niles proves there's room for improvement
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice – but it was Sead Kolasinac and Mesut Ozil that stole the show at the Emirates.
Bernd Leno
Relatively quiet day at the office for the German shot-stopper. But his clean sheet was ruined when Ashley Barnes converted from close range.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Continuously tested Burnley's defence in the first 20 minutes, but he went off the boil as the game progressed. Gave away possession on numerous occasions and continued to get pushed off the ball.
Sokratis
Great performance from the powerful Greek star. Got involved in a scrap with Barnes, but needs to be careful of giving away unnecessary fouls.
Nacho Monreal
The Spanish defender sparked panic when he limped off the pitch in the first-half.
Sead Kolasinac
Man of the match in my opinion. He was untouchable as he charged up and down the left flank. Got the assist for Aubameyang's opener and surely cemented his spot in Unai Emery's starting XI.
Mohamed Elneny
Put in a good performance before he was replaced by Lucas torreira in the 59th minute. Defensively there is room for improvement, but his decision making on the ball was spot on.
Mateo Guendouzi
Fought relentlessly, but was continuously fouled and chopped down by the Burnley players. And it appeared to be brutally stamped on by Barnes while he was on the ground. The Frenchman did not stop running and he used the ball well.
Granit Xhaka
Was forced to play more defensively after Monreal was hauled off the pitch. Arsenal lost a bit of control when he was not in the heart of midfield. Another good performance from the Swiss star.
Mesut Ozil
Silenced his critics when his incredible pass created Aubameyang's opener in the 14th minute. He was recently dropped by Emery against Bournemouth because of concerns about his "physicality and intensity" – but he proved today that he can handle the heat.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Scored twice at the Emirates to take his goal tally to 12 this season. His first-time finish in the early stages gave them the lead before he doubled the tally with a powerful strike just after half-time.
Alexandre Lacazette
Received a standing ovation from the crowd and his boss when he was subbed in the second half. Encouraging performance and linked up with Aubameyang well, but did not manage to get on the score sheet.
