Ajax star Edson Alvarez 'goes on STRIKE in bid to force through Chelsea transfer' after £43m bid is launched | The Sun

EDSON ALVAREZ has reportedly gone on strike in order to seal a deadline-day move to Chelsea.
Chelsea turned their attention to signing the Ajax midfielder after their pursuit of PSV ace Ibrahim Sangare fell flat.
The west Londoners have reportedly tabled a £43million offer for the Mexico international – who is keen to move to Stamford Bridge.
And Alvarez is said to have SKIPPED training in an attempt to force through a last-ditch move to west London.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claim the 24-year-old has "refused to train" in order to force the hand of the Ajax brass.
The defensive midfielder is said to be hopeful of Ajax entertaining the Premier League side's offer so he can fulfil his "dream" move.

But it's understood the Dutch champions are reluctant to let the midfielder leave the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Alvarez's former Ajax team-mate Antony went on strike last month in order to force through his £85m move to Manchester United.
And his actions, like Antony's, will have enraged Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder.
Schreuder said of Antony's refusal to play: "I don’t think it’s good that it’s possible within our club.
