RYAN GIGGS has told Manchester United to back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with money to sign up to six new players if they want to get back to challenging for honours.
Giggs told the United Stand: “We need to bring quality in. Ole has brought three in who are all doing well.
His dealings have been very good so far. Give him the money other managers have had to get Manchester United players.
“Get another five or six players like that in, we will see a real difference. They are missing that creative player.
“It is no coincidence, the best performances have been against good teams. The lesser teams are always harder to break down.
“We are probably just a bit shy of them creative players and I think Ole recognises that. It has been a difficult start. As far as Ole is concerned, I know him well, as a player and person.
“He is going to need time. Since the manager left, different philosophies and types of players and Ole is trying to turn that around. He is looking at the future and trying to win games at the same time. It is difficult.
“When you are in a league with Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola fantastic, established coaches. I don’t care who came in, it was never going to be easy.”
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER will call on his promising young stars to take on Chelsea's bright new side but admitted his Manchester United hopefuls are behind in their development compared to their rivals.
Teenagers James Garner, Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood could all figure when United take on the Blues tomorrow for a place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
The United boss said: “It is a very exciting team. Frank has got players that have been on loan for one or two seasons in the Championship.
“The difference with my youngsters is that they are almost stepping up right now on to the scene.
“You can see, Axel Tuanzebe, he has been out on loan and you can see the benefit, and I think Chelsea’s young players benefit from that now.
“They are a mature young team.”
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has dropped a huge hint that he will continue his football career in La Liga.
The Sweden superstar informed his 39million Instagram followers that he is “coming back” to Spain eight years after leaving Barcelona permanently.
Ibrahimovic, 38, appears to have confirmed that he has played his final game for LA Galaxy after their 5-3 play-off loss to Los Angeles FC.
The veteran made sure he didn't go out without causing a stir by grabbing his crotch at a rival fan as he headed down the tunnel.
Much speculation has been made over his next move with talk of a switch to Napoli, Manchester United and even retirement.
But Ibra appears to have quashed all speculation and instead revealed that Spain is his next destination.
On a video posed on Instagram, he says: “Hola Espana, guess what? I'm coming back.”
The ex-Inter Milan star dropped no hints as to which club he could sign for.
MANCHESTER UNITED'S players arrived at training ahead of their Carabao Cup trip to Chelsea tomorrow night.
The Red Devils make the trip to West London looking to make it three wins from three in all competitions but will face a tough test against Frank Lampard's young side.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men arrived in a variety of flashy motors ahead of the training session at their Carrington training base.
Marcos Rojo – who could start at Stamford Bridge – arrived in a luminous orange Rolls Royce.
And Marcus Rashford – who could be replaced in the starting XI by Mason Greenwood – looked chilly as he turned up in his black Mercedes.

EXCLUSIVE by Joshua Jones: MANCHESTER UNITED sent scouts to watch Brescia's teenage midfielder Sandro Tonali again last week.
The Italian – dubbed the new Andrea Pirlo in his homeland for both his playing and hair styles – is catching the eye of a number of top-class European sides with his performances from midfield.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has received glowing reports and their Italian spies watched him play the full 90 minutes in last Monday's goalless draw with Fiorentina.
The Red Devils are in the market for creative young talent and there is a feeling Tonali could be one worth paying out big bucks for to steal a march on some of their rivals.
An Old Trafford source told SunSport: “We have known about Tonali for 18 months but our Italian scouts say he has gone to the next level and United need to get involved – he could be a generational talent.”
Tonali, 19, broke into the Brescia first team in the 2017/18 season and played a pivotal role last season in his side's promotion to Serie A.
