  • ARSENAL appear to have missed the boat on Juventus defender Daniele Rugani who is closing in on a move to Roma, according to reports.

    The Gunners failed in a bid to land in the Italian in the final few days of the transfer window and instead opted for David Luiz.

    They were considering revisiting the opportunity to sign him in January but will now need to turn their attentions elsewhere.

    That is because Roma have reportedly agreed to meet Juventus' asking price, according to reports in Italy. 

  • ARSENAL are reportedly set to offload Shkodran Mustafi to Roma this week.

    Forza Roma claims Unai Emery is prepared to let Mustafi move to Italy on a season-long loan with the view to a £23million permanent deal.

    Mustafi’s future at the Emirates is uncertain after Arsenal completed a stunning £7m deadline day move for David Luiz.

    The Brazilian and Sokratis will be the club’s first choice in the heart of defence this term.

    And Roma are desperate for a new centre-back after selling Kostas Manolas to Napoli.

  • EX-ARSENAL forward Nicolas Anelka has spoken of his utter embarrassment at how badly his time at Juventus went.

    After a career that spanned France, England, Turkey, China and India, the former striker has described his stint in Italy as the worst of his career.

    Speaking to TuttoJuve, the Frenchman, 40, said: “I had decided to accept Juve because it is a great club, with a good history and also because they were leading Serie A.

    “Unfortunately, this will remain my worst experience [in football] since I only played 45 minutes and I never wore the shirt at Juventus Stadium in front of the fans.

    “Honestly, when someone talks to me about Juventus I try to change the subject immediately… I'm ashamed of that transfer!”

  • NICOLAS PEPE has praised Unai Emery for helping him to settle in north London.

    The £72m summer signing told Arsenal Player: “It's been really good because he speaks French and it has been much easier for us to communicate.

    “I am new, the strategy and tactics are new and it really helps that I can get the coach's assistance.

    “Now I need to learn English and this is something he is helping me with also.”

  • KRYSTIAN BIELIK has aimed at a cheeky dig at Unai Emery following his switch to Derby.

    The 21-year-old joined the Rams this summer after falling to make his mark at the Emirates.

    Speaking to Polish outlet Przeglad Sportowy, he said: “Is leaving Arsenal my failure? No. I do not feel that way at all.

    “I know that if Arsene Wenger was still at working at the club, I would get a chance.”
