AC MILAN reportedly turned down the chance to sign Dani Ceballos this summer.
Arsenal managed to land the midfielder on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.
And it is believed they want to make his stay permanent in 2020.
However, things could have turned out differently had Ceballos moved to Italy instead.
Calcio Mercato claims Milan were in talks to sign the playmaker, but wanted a permanent deal instead of a loan agreement.
Real think the player still has a future with them, and Milan pulled out of negotiations as a result.
ARSENE WENGER believes Tottenham’s struggles make his achievement of qualifying for the Champions League 20 years in a row even greater.
He told Bein Sports: “Every year people want something more from you. I experienced that at Arsenal.
“We were 20 consecutive years in the top four but in the end it was not enough anymore.
“Today if you get into the Champions League people are very happy.
“That happened to Pochettino. Once you’re somewhere four or five years ago, no matter how good a job you’ve done, you have to show people you can give even more.
“He’s at that stage. When I played them two or three years ago they looked like a young, hungry team who had found good strengths, good core of the team with people who were together, growing inside the club.
“They expressed that hunger and players from outside were vital, like Eriksen.
“Today you don’t feel that chemistry and Eriksen is sidelined because he doesn’t want to commit his future.”
NACHO MONREAL has recalled the time he joined Arsenal in 2013.
The left-back departed for Real Sociedad over the summer.
But Monreal has fond memories of his six years in North London.
Monreal said: “I had been called by Arsenal to ask if I wanted to go there.
“That day in the morning I was training with Malaga and ten hours later I was signing with Arsenal.
“Football is very complicated sometimes, and sometimes very simple and fast.
“Yes, no doubt [it was the right move]. When Arsenal calls, you don’t think about it. I said yes immediately.
“My memories are wonderful. Even being captain of Arsenal. A pride.”
KIERAN TIERNEY is ready to make his Premier League debut against Sheffield United on Monday.
Unai Emery claims the left-back is finally fit after his £25m summer move from Celtic.
Tierney has featured just twice this season, once in the Europa League and once in the EFL Cup.
But the Scotland international is now ready to stake his claim for a regular place in the starting XI.
Emery told Talksport: “Tierney is ready to play. We have two options at left-back.
“We have a lot of games and we will need every player.”
