Zoë Kravitz almost let Instagram trolls take her down.

The “Batman” star, 33, turned heads on the 2021 Met Gala red carpet in a totally sheer metal mesh Saint Laurent gown with a matching thong underneath.

Despite the fact that exposed backsides happened to be a trend at the America-themed event — with Taraji P. Henson, Teyana Taylor, Saweetie and more sporting similarly revealing looks — Kravitz’s outfit drew scathing reviews from some on social media.

And while the actress seemed to handle the backlash with ease — “Being uncomfortable with the human body is colonization / brainwashing. It’s just a body. We all got em,” she responded to one critic at the time — the star revealed in a new interview with Elle that it took a toll on her confidence.

“The fact that people don’t think what they say affects a celebrity because you’re not a person to them is crazy,” she told the magazine. “I’m a human being. I want to f—king defend myself.”

Shortly after the Met Gala, Kravitz took a “pause” from Instagram, deleting nearly every post including the photo of her look from the event (and the ensuing caustic comments).

“The fact that I’m like, ‘Should I have not worn that?’ No, I do what I want to do, and I make what I want to make, and if I’m now starting to be afraid of what other people are going to say or think, I’m no longer doing my job as an artist,” she told Elle.

“I’m not experiencing the world and putting that into art. I’m walking on eggshells. F—k that. So, I needed to take a minute.”
