A woman has found a lasagne that expired in March 1997 in the back of her cupboard, leaving people shocked.
Orla Walsh, from Dublin, took to Twitter to share the dish that her mother found amongst her camping gear.
The packaging, which contains a 26-year-old lasagne, remains in an impressive condition.
Orla initially thought the kitchen classic pasta dish was from the freezer, but it turns out it was a dried item.
Twitter users can’t quite get over the discovery, and many have had hilarious reactions.

Orla explained in the tweet: ‘My mum cleared out the freezer..’
She later edited her explanation and said: ‘Correction: found with the camping gear. It’s a dried item not a freezer item. More gross?’
Orla then jokingly added: ‘Also, please note it’s a “best before” date rather than a “used by” dates. So let’s not be too hasty.’
The tweet, which received more than four million views, had a series of entertaining replies.
One person said: ‘Oh wow, I’d probably heat that up an extra few mins in addition to what it recommends’
A second person added: ‘Don’t throw it out. That belongs in a 90s museum’
A third said: ‘The fact that Princess Diana was still alive at this time’
A fourth added: ‘Omg that’s older than my eldest son-and he’s about to become a dad!’

The tweet, which gained over 4 million views, encouraged other users to share similar experiences in the comment section
Other users took to Twitter to share similar experiences, and some were perhaps more shocking than the 26-year-old lasagna.
One said: ‘We have a thing of basil that, in 2006, we discovered expired in *1979* (1 year after my parents got married and bought the house).
‘Now we save it as an heirloom. It’s still got basil leaves in it most retro looking thing EVER.’
A second user wrote a similar anecdote. They said: ‘I found a jar of Colemans mustard in my grandads pantry one Christmas.
‘I wanted a bit for my Christmas dinner, and when I looked at the jar the label looked different.
‘So looked at the date and it expired in 1993 the same year I was born.’
Many users on Twitter were quick to share their thoughts, and some had similar experiences with expired food
Another user said: ‘When my mum cleared my Nan’s freezer she found a Somerfield cheesecake that went out of date in 1998.
‘We decided not to risk eating it.’
A fourth user shared their experience on the topic. They said: ‘We cleaned out a relative’s flat after they died, and there was a 12-year-old Iceland Lasagne, and a Chicken Curry and Rice ready meal.
‘The boxes were stained brown because they chain smoked. My dad ate them and said they were a bit bland, but FINE!?’
