Who Is Princess Diana's Up and Coming Niece, Kitty Spencer?
There’s a pretty good chance you’ve never heard of Kitty Spencer. But chances are, if you don’t know who she is yet, you will soon. The niece of the late Princess Diana is an up and coming fashion model in London.
She recently caught the world’s attention while attending Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018. Here’s what we know about the London beauty.

Kitty Spencer showed up to her cousin’s wedding wearing an emerald green hand-painted Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda dress and instantly caught everyone’s attention. Spencer is the daughter of Charles Spencer and Victoria Lockwood, making the late Princess Diana her aunt on her dad’s side. And it’s easy to see the family resemblance. Spencer’s golden locks and big blue eyes are a spitting image of the former Princess of Wales.
Born December 28, 1990, Kitty is the oldest of eight children. Her mother and father had four children together. Her father remarried twice and subsequently had three more children. Her mother had one more son.
Though she was born in London, Kitty spent most of her childhood in South Africa. After her parents’ divorce, Kitty and her siblings stayed with her mother in South Africa while her father returned to England.
She currently resides in London

Lady Spencer recently moved back to London. She tells Vanity Fair that the city is an exciting place to live in your late 20s. She says she doesn’t feel like she missed out by living in South Africa, noting that she got “the best of both worlds.”
Like her aunt, Kitty is very involved in charity work. In 2016, she was named an ambassador for Centrepoint, an organization that helps the homeless and one that cousin Prince William is also involved in. Princess Diana was also a patron of the organization.

Thank you to the wonderful team at Cliftonville Primary School for having me I was very happy to visit to find out more about how the Save the Children's education programmes are helping pupils. Their Families Connect programme is helping to increase parents’ skills and confidence to support their child’s learning at the school. I spent the day with children and families from Cliftonville Primary which is the largest primary school in Kent and is based in one of the top 3% of most deprived wards across the UK. Some of the severest child poverty rates can be found there and with daily struggles such as paying bills and putting food on the table, parents often find it difficult to support their children’s educational development at home – which can lead to children drastically falling behind at school. It was an extremely moving experience, meeting children and families being supported by @savechildrenuk to improve their early learning and helping to give them the best possible start in life.

It’s hard to imagine that someone with such famous connections could be uncomfortable in the spotlight. But Spencer recently opened up that the attention that she has received since the royal wedding has been a little overwhelming.
Spencer told Harper’s Bazaar that it was all unexpected. She joked, “My [Instagram followers] went from 17,000 to half a million in one night. I thought I had someone else’s phone when I woke up the next morning.”
And though she’s a natural in the spotlight, she says she still struggles with imposter syndrome. Kitty signed with Storm management four years ago and has been modeling across the globe, but she still gets star struck and still couldn’t get used to the fact that she was walking the runway with the likes of Naomi Campbell. Of a recent show, she said, ” I just stood there staring at everyone. I completely forgot to stand in any way that was photogenic or photographable.”
But even with her rising fame, don’t expect her to become absorbed in the fashion world. Spencer wants to make a difference, “I don’t want to look back and see where I could have done more for people.”
She has very few memories of her aunt, but she treasures the ones she does have
Kitty Spencer was just 6 years old when her aunt died in a tragic car accident in London. She told Vanity Fair in 2016, ” I was so young [when Diana was alive]. There are only a few memories, but special memories and happy memories, and I’m so lucky to have those.”
Though she never really got the chance to meet the princess, that doesn’t stop the comparisons between her and her late aunt. From her blue eyes to her loving smile to endless compassion for others, Kitty definitely embodies the Spencer spirit and is someone we can’t wait to see more of.
