This 1 Clue at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Wedding Foreshadowed Their Split From the Royal Family

While so many royal fans claim they aren’t surprised that PrinceHarry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are essentially quittingthe royal family, others are still in shock. Everyone knew that the Dukeand Duchess of Sussex were quite unhappy with the current state of affairs. Butstepping down from their roles assenior royals? That was a bold move that royal experts didn’t anticipate.

There have been plenty of clues along the way that thismight happen. Chief among these was during Harry and Meghan’s royalwedding. Here’s the subtle clue that some royal followers are claiming may havepredicted this outcome years ago.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t have a traditional royalwedding

It’s difficult to keep track of howmany ways Harry and Meghan’s wedding broke royal protocol because there wereso many instances. For starters, they chose a date in May despite it being badluck to do so. The couple also held hands during the ceremony which was a breakin the strict “no PDA” rule that most royals follow. They skipped the famedbalcony kiss, they had a unique cake, they invited celebrities… the list goeson and on.

But perhaps the biggest element that made the Duke and Duchess ofSussex’s wedding unique was their intentional incorporation of multiculturalelements. It was important for the couple to represent both their backgrounds duringtheir nuptials. But now some are questioning if this exact detail was aforeshadowing of drama to come.

None of the royals appreciated the changes in their weddingceremony

Royal weddings are steeped in tradition and rich symbolism that attendees expect to see. One thing they weren’t expecting was a gospel choir and a preacher sharing an extra-long sermon. While many royal followers scoff at the notion of racism, others claim that’s exactly the reason Meghan was ostracized from the royal family.

Chicago Tribune journalist Dahleen Glanton said, “The gospel choir singing ‘Stand By Me’ [at the wedding] and swaying to the beat of their soulful voices was too much for many of the hoity-toity aristocrats seated in the majestic cathedral. It was obvious that Markle was not one of them and never would be.”

The royal family seems hostile tochange

Though they’re progressive in manyways, the royal family is still stuck in the past in others. Glanton went on toexplain that during Harry and Meghan’s wedding, most guests lookeduncomfortable or confused during the ceremony.

“At various points, Harry’s cousin Zara Tindall’smouth hung open, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice snickered, Prince Williamseemed as though he was trying not to laugh, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillipwere stone-faced and many of the other guests were simply stunned,” she wrote.

“Clearly, they couldn’t wait for it to be over.”

Harry and Meghan tried to change something that cannotbe changed

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were oblivious to the disdainuntil they could no longer ignore it anymore. On their wedding day, they onlyhad eyes for each other. And later they sought to focus on their work insteadof paying attention to tabloids. Eventually, it all got to be too much.

It’s true that Harry and Meghan could have continued suffering in silence for the rest of their years. But instead, they chose to fight back against unfair tabloid coverage and institutions that refused to change. That’s why it’s not even slightly surprising that they’re leaving the royal family behind.
