ASDA has just unveiled their secret weapon for the Christmas party season – and you can snap it up for just £16.

The gorgeous mulberry coloured velour frock looks like it costs a great deal more than £16 and will leave friends and colleagues in shock when they found out its purse-friendly price tag.

The sought-after garment is knee length has a sophisticated high neck and slim-cut body-con shape with a ruched front  – great for hiding extra Christmas calories.

Helen Low, senior design director for George told the Daily Mail: “We’ve had a real quality drive this autumn/winter.

“Research tells us that dresses have to pass the ‘touch test’ for customers to buy them. Even if it is less than £20, the fabric has to have weight.”

"We’ve designed our dresses to provide a flattering backdrop to great jewellery or heels, which the wearer can change around depending on whether they’re dressing down or up."

If velour is not your thing and you want to sparkle, Asda also stock a gold metallic dress for just a couple of pounds more, which has a V-neck shape and elasticated waist and looks just as good with flats as it does with high heels.
