Tesco Clubcard helps customers save money at the popular store. Tesco warns 620,000 have had their account breached after spotting “fraudulent activity” when it comes to vouchers being redeemed.

Fraudsters have stolen passwords and usernames of customers, using them to redeem customer’s hard-earned reward vouchers.
While no personal financial data has been compromised via the loyalty scheme, shoppers will not want to miss out on their rewards from the store.
The Tesco Clubcard sees members collect points when they shop with the company.

The points turn into vouchers that can be used on shops in the future.
Shoppers get a point for every pound they spend.
Tesco told Manchester Evening News: “We have strict security measures in place and our priority is protecting our customers.”

“Our internal systems picked this up quickly and we immediately took steps to protect our customers and restrict access to their accounts.
“At no point was any customer’s financial data accessed.
“We believe that someone has stolen password/username combinations from other website(s) and used them to try to access Tesco sites – where customers used the same username and password.
“We have asked customers affected to reset their passwords and are contacting customers whose Clubcard vouchers may have been affected to let them know that we will replace these vouchers and issue new Clubcards, as a precaution. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”

This comes after Tesco warned unused vouchers worth millions are unclaimed expired soon.
Shoppers who failed to check their accounts may have missed out on the two-year old vouchers which needed to be spent by 29 February.
Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis at the time explained: “If you have a Clubcard, you earn one point for each pound spent at Tesco.
“Points are then issued as vouchers every three months, or you can request to have them added to your account instantly through the ‘Faster Vouchers’ scheme.
“However, the vouchers are only valid for two years after they’re issued (21 months if issued as Faster Vouchers).”
Boots Advantage Card changes upset fans in recent months.
Under new plans, however, shoppers will only earn eight points for every £1 spent. These changes come in to force on 16 March – only a few weeks away.
Boots first broke the news to customers in an email, and said: “We’re changing the points you get in Parenting Club, from 10 points per £1 you spend in Baby, to 8 points.
“However, that’s still 4 more points than the standard Advantage Card reward of 4 points per £1.
