Sophie, Countess of Wessex body language show growing role
Sophie has been part of the Royal Family for many years and is always happy to carry out official duties.
Kate Middleton joined the Royal Family when she married Prince William in 2011.
The two royal ladies are thought to have a good relationship and Sophie may even have helped Kate when she joined the family, body language expert Judi James explained.
She told Express.co.uk: “Sophie’s attitude must have made her the perfect royal wife to welcome and induct Kate into the Royal Family.
“Especially in the face of William’s horror of bringing Kate into the same circus that he watched his mother suffer.
“Sophie’s formula does appear to have been copied by Kate too as – so far – she has managed to tread the very fine line of creating interest that is positive but not unmanageable.”
The two royal ladies may get on well, but Sophie still made the decision to take a step back after the birth of Prince George.
Kate and William welcomed their first child, Prince George, on July 22, 2013.
Speaking in an unearthed interview shortly after his birth, Sophie explained she was excited by the news.
When asked how she felt, she explained: “I feel ridiculously happy actually, so excited for them both. It’s a wonderful event.
“Everybody is absolutely thrilled, as you can imagine. As I say, I feel ridiculously happy for them.
“I never expected to feel quite this happy but I’ve had a big smile on my face ever since the news broke.”

She also explained she was giving space to the new parents when asked if she had met George yet.
Sophie replied: “Not yet, I’ve sent messages, but I’m hoping in the next couple of days to be able to catch up with them.
“I think they’ll probably be wanting to just be together at the moment.”
Sophie has two children herself and shared that she understood the royals would probably want time alone.
“Having had babies myself, I know that you really want to close down the hatches and be together with your immediate family in the first few days and weeks,” the Countess added.
“So, I hope to be able to see the baby sometime soon but no plans as yet.”
Sophie explained she made the decision to step back to let Kate and Prince William enjoy time with their newborn child.
