Sarah Paulson doubles down on saying Lisa Vanderpump wasn’t nice when they met
It looks like things aren’t all diamonds and rosé between Sarah Paulson and Lisa Vanderpump.
Emmy-winning Paulson emphasized on Thursday night’s “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that the former “RHOBH” star wasn’t nice to her — an accusation she first made last year during a Vanity Fair interview where she was hooked up to a lie detector.
“I mean Andy, it’s that thing where you know, I’m a bit of an idiot in the sense that when I was having that lie detector test they truly strapped everything around me,” Paulson, 45, began explaining to Andy Cohen when he asked about the backlash after her initial accusation. “The guy was sitting there and I felt somehow like if I didn’t answer the question properly that I was going to get in like — they were going to call me out anyway.”
Paulson, a “Housewives” fan, told Vanity Fair in an interview released in October 2019 that she wouldn’t miss Vanderpump, 59, when she left the show, especially after she “met her once at a party and she wasn’t that nice” to her.
Vanderpump’s fans took to social media to berate the “American Horror Story” star, with the restaurateur herself tweeting: “I am sorry, not sure I know her and I don’t believe or remember meeting her. I try to be nice to everybody lol.”
“Listen bless the fans,” Paulson told Cohen in the new interview. “Bless the people who have her back. That’s great. But there was a kind of vitriol that was like, ‘Wow. I didn’t say she was a terrible person.’ I simply said she wasn’t that nice to me. She wasn’t and that’s OK. It’s not a character assassination. It’s just she wasn’t that friendly.”
Paulson added that “she did let [her]” hold her beloved pup Giggy, which fans used against her.
“I was just like, ‘Yeah, I think I probably grabbed the dog out of her hand anyway,’” Paulson said. “But I was with other people that I think she liked and she didn’t know who I was. I didn’t expect her to know who I was but I just, you know, she wasn’t that nice.”
Her “WWHL” co-guest, Sonja Morgan, then chimed in, “Come on! everybody knows who you are!”
After thanking the “RHONY” star, Paulson gushed, “Sonja knows who I am! It’s literally like the greatest day of my life! It’s so serious, you can’t understand.”
Maybe Morgan, Paulson and Vanderpump should meet for a drink at PUMP when it reopens.
