Royal Mail’s sweet gesture for little girl who posted dummies to ‘the fairies’

It’s a big milestone in a child’s life when they choose to get rid of their dummies.
And as some get attached to the comforting items, parents have to give their little ones some encouragement.
One mum and dad told their daughter that the “dodo fairy” had come to collect the dummies.
They got her to write a note to the fictional character, before packaging it up with the items.
They then posted the parcel through a letterbox and expected that to be the last of it.
So the parents were surprised to receive a response to their message – but it wasn’t from the fairy, it was from Royal Mail workers.
The kind posties returned a letter to the little girl from “the fairies”.
It read: “Thank you. You are so kind and courageous to give your dummy to the fairies.
“We are proud of you! And we promise to look after it.”
As well as writing the sweet note, a Royal Mail worker called Les penned one for the parents too.
It reads: “I have enclosed a thank you letter from the dummy fairies to show to your child to say thank you for sending the dummies to them. I hope this is OK?”
The parents were chuffed to receive the post – and their daughter was over the moon too.
In the Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas Facebook group on Facebook, the mum said: "Sooo last week the 7th of September my clever little princess posted her dummies to the 'do do fairies!'
"I put our address as thought if they had a problem they could send back! Well this morning the 'dummy fairies' ( Royal Mail) sent a letter to say thank you!
"To say my little princess hasn’t stopped smiling is an understatement! She won’t put the letter down!
“Soo to any mummy/daddies out there struggling with how to get rid of them! Here you go! Shout out to Royal Mail for making my baby’s day!"
