Even without a host, the show must go on: The Oscars 2019 red carpet ran hot — and now it’s time for the gold to flow Sunday at the 91st annual Academy Awards broadcast.

Opening act Queen — with an assist from fill-in frontman Adam Lambert — got the crowd warmed up and on its feet with a medley of hits before the first statuette was awarded to industry veteran Regina King for Barry Jenkins’ adaptation of James Baldwin’s novel, “If Beale Street Could Talk.”
