Newly Revealed Documents Detail How Prince Andrew Is Caught Up in Jeffrey Epstein Sex Crime Scandal

Sordid details continue to surface about convicted sexoffender Jeffrey Epstein as he faces new allegations that he ran a sextrafficking ring for years. He was arrested on July 6 on federal chargesfor recruiting and sexually abusing scores of underage girls from around theworld. According to the charges, the victims were made available to Epstein andnumerous political figures and business executives.

During the past few weeks, some prominent names have been associated with Epstein, including POTUS Donald Trump, former governor Bill Richardson, and Prince Andrew. Court documents made public this week allege that Prince Andrew did a lot more than just party with Epstein.

Unsealed documents seem to verify previous reports

According to NBCNews, Virginia Roberts Giuffre testified during a deposition that Epsteinand his then-girlfriend/assistant Ghislaine Maxwell ordered her to provide sexualfavors to multiple men, including Epstein and PrinceAndrew. Now 36, Giuffre first went public with the accusations years ago,stating that she was recruited by Maxwell when she was just 16 while workingwith her father at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. She states that she was asex slave for four years.

At the time, Maxwell and Prince Andrew fervently denied theclaims, with Maxwell calling her a liar. Giuffre sued Maxwell for defamation2016, and the court records were sealed. A portion of those documents were madepublic on August 9.

Accounts paint Prince Andrew as willing participant

An old photo that is circulating from the court case showsPrince Andrew with his arm around Giuffre’s waist—when she was a minor—as Maxwellstands in the background. It was taken at Maxwell’s residence, one of the locationsnamed as a site where the alleged trafficking and sexual encounters took place.

The documents point to a deposition by another victim named JoannaSjoberg, who’s also accused Epstein and Maxwell of sexual abuse. Sjoberg claimsto have been present with Giuffre during an encounter with Prince Andrew.According to TheGuardian, there was a puppet of Prince Andrew that was used. Sjoberg stated:

“I just remember someone suggesting a photo, and they told us to go get on the couch. And so Andrew and Virginia sat on the couch, and they put the puppet, the puppet on her lap. And so then I sat on Andrew’s lap, and I believe on my own volition, and they took the puppet’s hands and put it on Virginia’s breast, and so Andrew put his on mine.”

The court records also refer to areport that Giuffre once had sexual relations with Prince Andrew in a bathtub. BusinessInsider notes that Sjoberg is one of the accusers whose statements wereuncovered in the unsealed documents but she witnessed some of the encounterswith Giuffre, including the one mentioned above.

The palace and the prince deny any wrongdoing.

It was no secret that Prince Andrew was mentioned as part of the sex scandal with Giuffre—the BBC reported on it in 2015—but he and Buckingham Palace have continued to deny he was involved with Giuffre or any other underage girls, per The Washington Post. Giuffre, who was Virginia Roberts at time, claims she was 17 when it first started and she had three sexual encounters with the prince.
