Netflix is teasing what could be a Beyoncé special, and fans are going bonkers

Is Beychella coming to Netflix?

On Sunday, the streaming service shared on social media a yellow box with the word “Homecoming” across it, dated April 17.

Fans are speculating that’s when Netflix will premiere a new Beyoncé special featuring her widely hailed performances at last year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. (April 17 falls smack dab between the weekends of Coachella 2019, which runs April 12-14 and April 19-21.)

USA TODAY has reached out to Netflix for details.

The look of the announcement resembles Beyoncé’s reveal of her appearance at the desert music festival.

“ITS BEYONCE YALL. THE SAME LOGO AND EVERYTHING. AHHHH,” @MrBeyonceFan tweeted Sunday.

“Beyoncé is really going to give us a documentary about Beychella a year after her Coachella performance and think that we’re going to watch it like it just came out yesterday … because that is exactly what I plan to do,” @KakashiWALDORF wrote.

Fans breathlessly took note that Netflix’s “Homecoming” billboards in Times Square are alternating between bright gold and hot pink backgrounds – just as the singer switched her wardrobe from gold to pink between the first and second weekends of Coachella.

“It was glorious,” the USA TODAY Network’s Kristin Scharkey raved after the superstar’s first set last April. “This world is Beyoncé’s, we’re all just living in it.”

Beyoncé also last year launched the Homecoming Scholars Award Program, a scholarship program for students to attend historically black college and universities

The singer famously kept specifics about her 2016 HBO special “Lemonade” under wraps.

Us magazine recently reported that Beyoncé was working with Netflix on a documentary of her performance.
