My partner’s been taking a woman out on dates but he says they’re just friends – The Sun
DEAR DEIDRE: TWICE now, my partner has been out for dinner after work with a woman who was good friends with his ex-wife.
He says nothing has happened between them but I don’t know what to think.
My partner and I have been together for a year. I am 29 and he is 33 and has been divorced for two years. This other woman is 31.
He insists that she is only a friend and nothing is going on but they look like dates to me.
I can’t understand why she has just popped up in his life now when they have known each other for years – since college.
I said I wasn’t happy about it, that I wasn’t stopping him seeing her as I trust him, but there have to be some boundaries. He admitted he was in the wrong.
He wants me to meet her now but I’m not sure I want to.
She must know a lot of stuff about us and I think our meeting would be awkward.

DEIDRE SAYS: After suggesting you meet this woman, your partner is doing his best to reassure you their friendship is innocent, and I urge you to agree.
She can then become your friend too and you will stop coming across as so needy and insecure.
