The Duchess first met Prince Harry in 2016 and the pair began dating soon after.

In September 2017, it was announced Meghan and Harry were engaged and the former actress was to become a royal.

Making such a big change in her life, it is no surprise that Meghan would look to other royals for guidance on her new role.

Since entering the family, fans have eagerly watched to see how she gets on with her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

Although the pair always seem friendly, Meghan might have the closest relationship with another member of the family.

In fact, it could be her father-in-law, Prince Charles, 71, who she has formed a real bond with.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, a source said: “The wedding was a real turning point. Charles showed so much love towards Harry and Meghan, and I think Harry will be eternally grateful to his papa for stepping in and giving Meghan’s hand in marriage. The bond between them is very close.

“Charles has been very supportive of Meghan and everything she is going through with her own father.

“He’s got a real soft spot for her and thinks she’s the best thing to have happened to Harry.”

When Meghan and Harry said “I do” the actress asked Charles to walk her down the aisle and there relationship has reportedly gone from strength to strength.

Speaking on BBC’s Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, Prince Harry spoke out on Meghan’s relationship with his father.

He said: “I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming, and he immediately said ‘yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you’.

“For him that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he’s our father so of course he’s gonna be there for us.”

Meghan could also have been getting guidance from the Queen’s daughter-in-law, Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

The royals shared a carriage at Royal Ascot 2018 in what was one of Meghan’s first official appearances.

Sophie is the wife of Prince Edward and is said to have a close relationship with the Queen.

Because of that, the Queen reportedly asked Sophie to be an ally to the Duchess of Sussex.

Most recently, Meghan and Sophie stood together at the Remembrance service 2019 at the Cenotaph.

Sophie appeared to look over Meghan and offer her services as an ally, body language expert, Judi James, explained.

Judi told Express.co.uk: “Sophie always looks like the ‘no fuss’ royal and her long-term marriage to the royal prince who once seemed the least likely to settle down after some fickle career choices suggests she’s a great stabilising influence and might make the perfect royal mentor for Meghan.

“Watching Sophie and Meghan together it’s hard to imagine the pair would naturally become close friends but there is some evidence that Sophie could be offering her services as an ally.”
